Criation of the "Group Religion and Sacred in Film and Mass Media!


Is dedicated to the study of various manifestations of religion and the sacred in film and in mass media. The goal is to understand how the various religious practices deal and have adapted to the media, and seek to understand the survival of fragments of religious discourse, and the sacred in contemporary society. Hopes are also developing new methods of analysis that could benefit researchers.
The objects of research are film and media products, it may be of religious origin or not. The religion and practices relating to the Sacred is a very broad field of study, and deserve the dedication and expertise of researchers, so there is progress in their study. We make a distinction between Religion and Sacred, we put in the first group practices concerning institutionalized religions, their representatives and those of indirect way filiam up to its precepts; in the second group we put all the practices perceived as part of the thinking on the sacred, such as mythology, mythical narratives, fragmentary references to religious elements, etc.. The opening of several broad themes and issues is seen as necessary for the dialogue among researchers can be so creative while enriching.
The researchers involved in the group use different forms and methods of analysis of media products, going from history, theology, elements of the sacred, to the filmic analysis. In the research we look at the narrative, aesthetic, technological convergence, contributions, appropriations, rereading, and religious transformations in the universe via dialogue with the communication practices.
The Group is headquartered at the University Anhembi Morumbi. Join researchers from several universities, including students of post-graduate and graduate.
